Three Caravans Parked In A Row At Caravan Park
Doing what’s right for you, every day

Campsite & Caravan Park Insurance

We have been insuring businesses across the South West for more than 120 years.
In that time, we have built real regional experience, local knowledge and have seen campsites, caravan parks and glamping thrive, diversify and expand.
We are a team of insurance experts that are part of your local community and our focus is on you and your business.
We strive to be familiar with your needs, concerns and issues, so we can work together and create tailored insurance, that’s right for you and your business.

Our commercial insurance provides:

  • A minimum of £5 million Public and Products Liability cover to protect you if the business is found to be at fault for an injury suffered to a member of the public or damage to their property
  • £10m Employers Liability to protect you if you are found to be at fault for an injury suffered by an employee
  • Property damage for buildings, stock, machinery and contents from a wide range of insured risks
  • Option to include business interruption to cover loss of gross profit following an insured event
  • The option to cover your legal liability for damage to your customers' caravans in storage.

As a mutual organisation, we’re owned by our Members, not shareholders. So, when you speak with one of our advisors, you’re not dealing with a commission-driven salesperson. You’re talking to a local specialist always ready with hands-on advice, assistance and answers you need, whenever you call on them.

We’d love to talk to you, so for further information or to arrange a quote on our farm insurance please give us or your local advisor a call. Want us to phone you? Simply click on the link and we will call you at a time that works best for you. We are always happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

What makes you different from other insurers?

We live and work across the South West and are actively involved in the farming community.  Whether it’s local agricultural events, charities, young farmers or our boots on the ground, the Field Force team visiting our Members, we strive to gain a better understanding of our Members and potential sector challenges.

Working in your local area makes us easily accessible and better placed to provide an excellent service compared to other remote insurance companies.  Our Members are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure they always know where they stand with us.

The premium is competitive but what are you like when it comes to paying claims?

We are conscious that when a claim arises our members are often financially affected. We aim to deal with all correspondence within 5 days of receipt and when a claim is agreed we aim to make the payment within 24 hours. Receiving payment is usually determined by the method of payment and so payment may not actually be received for a few days if by cheque or 24 hours if by BACS.

Is Cornish Mutual a broker or an agent?

Cornish Mutual is an independent Mutual Insurance Company. We are not a broker or an agent and underwrite our own insurance policies, therefore we provide a direct insurance service to our Members.

What should I do in the event of a claim?

Please visit our ‘How to make a claim’ page where you will find all of the information you need.

Rewilding

Often thought of as simply ‘shutting the gate’ on a piece of land, farming consultant Jim Bliss explains why rewilding requires an active approach in the UK, while regenerative agronomist Hugo Ellis describes it as driving for balance and diversity in habitats and farm enterprises. And livestock, they say, are essential. On his Nuffield travels, Jim Bliss saw some spectacular examples of what he calls ‘passive’ rewilding, where stock had been removed from the land and nature returned – Patagonia National Park being one. But the UK doesn’t have the space to take this approach. “So, it's much better to have active rewilding, which does involve farming, just in a more nuanced way, where it's all about diversity,” says Jim.
