Louise and Andy Bishop own and run Cosawes Barton, a beautiful estate of luxury holiday cottages that can be found nestled in the picturesque village of Ponsanooth, Cornwall.
Since making the move from Surrey to Cornwall three years ago, they’ve completed a large scale renovation project and have transformed Cosawes into a thriving, 5* holiday cottage and wedding business with visitors already returning year on year.
Louise and Andy both fell in love with Cosawes whilst holidaying in Cornwall a few years ago and although they had a long term dream of one day moving to Cornwall, they had no immediate plans. This all changed when they stumbled across Cosawes Barton on the off chance and made an offer on the property that day.
The old derelict barns are now beautifully finished, creating quiet and peaceful havens that visitors from all over the world escape to and they’ve just recently been granted a wedding license to have ceremonies in the cottages and tranquil garden.
Surrounded by 17 acres of beautiful, historic Cornish woodland and fields, Louise and Andy are fully embracing Cornish life. Their move to Cornwall had their kid’s interests firmly at the heart of it and upon visiting Cosawes it’s easy to see why. With chickens and horses occupying some of their fields, the whole family are living the good life.
Louise came across Cornish Mutual when the renovation work was taking place.
Louise says “It was a complicated situation and trying to explain our insurance needs over the phone was virtually impossible. I spoke to a few different national companies but I quickly realised it just wasn’t going to work.”
“I had heard of Cornish Mutual and knew they were local. Jeff, our local Field Force representative, came straight out and took the time to come and look at the property and the work we were having done at the time.”
“The main benefit of using Cornish Mutual is the face to face contact. I also know that if I have a question or just need some guidance and advice on something small I can contact Jeff and he’ll respond quickly.”
Cornish Mutual insures Cosawes’ home and contents as well as all of the let properties including the three barn conversions and separate cottage.
Louise adds “Insurance is important because it provides you with peace of mind. All of my savings and years of work were placed into setting up the business and it’s important that I have the right level of cover in place to protect it should the worst happen.”
