We understand that insurance can be a complicated subject to get your head around. To help you, we've put together some of the most common questions that we get asked.

Can I insure my car with you and nothing else?

No. To benefit from our car insurance, you have to have other insurance with us, as we do not offer our car insurance on its own. So if you are interested in buying our car insurance, you will need to become a Member of Cornish Mutual by taking out one of our other insurance policies first. Please call our Member Services Team on 0345 017 5513 to discuss.

Can I buy insurance through your website?

We like to make sure we clearly understand our customers' insurance needs and we feel the best way to do this is by speaking to you over the phone or if you are a farm or business we can visit you.

Are your Field Force salaried or paid by commission?

All of our staff across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, including the Field Force, are salaried. This means that their focus is on providing the best advice and an excellent service to you.

Are my water and heating pipes covered under your home insurance Policy?

They are part of the fixtures and fittings and therefore will be covered against the same insured risks as the main building – for example, fire, flood, lightning, storm flood and any other risks listed in your insurance Policy. However, as with all insurance policies, routine maintenance, wear and tear, mechanical or electrical failure are amongst the exclusions.
